ChatGPT prints blank pages: why, and the fix

How it works

1. Copy the chat's share link.
2. Paste it above. Every message is laid out at once.
3. Click Download PDF and print or save.

Why it happens

To stay fast with long conversations, chatgpt.com uses virtualised rendering: messages far above or below your scroll position are removed from the page and replaced with empty space. When you print, the browser captures the page as it is, so most of the chat is blank. Scrolling to the top first doesn't help, because then the bottom disappears.

Other symptoms with the same cause

• Only the last few messages print.
• The PDF has the right number of pages but most are empty.
• Code blocks are cut off at the right edge.
