Turn ChatGPT chats into a Claude Project
Give a Claude Project the background it needs: the ChatGPT chats where that project actually happened.
Or drag your ChatGPT or Claude export ZIP here. It's read on this device, nothing is uploaded.

How it works
- In ChatGPT, open Settings › Data controls › Export data and confirm. Download the ZIP from the email.
- Open the ZIP above and search for the project's name. Tick every chat about it.
- Export the Claude pack. In Claude, create a Project and upload the knowledge files.
Write the Project instructions
After uploading the files, give the Project short instructions that point at them: what the project is, which conventions to follow, and that the knowledge files are past conversations to use as background. Two or three sentences are enough. Claude reads the files when they're relevant.
One Project per piece of work
Claude Projects work best when they're focused: one for your app, one for your thesis, one for the client. Use the search box to pull every ChatGPT chat about one subject, export those, and you have a Project that already knows the history.
Questions
Can I add more chats later?
Yes. Export again with the new chats and upload the extra files to the same Project.
