How it works

  1. Tap Share in the chat and Copy link.
  2. Paste it above.
  3. Pick PDF, Word or Markdown. The file saves to your Downloads folder.

Where the file ends up

  • Windows and Mac: your Downloads folder, unless your browser asks where to save.
  • iPhone and iPad: Files, in the Downloads folder. PDFs save from the print screen's Share button, see iPhone steps.
  • Android: the Downloads folder, also shown in Chrome's Downloads list.
  • Chromebook: My files, then Downloads.

Keep a copy before a link disappears

Shared links stop working if the owner deletes them or deletes the chat. If someone sent you a useful conversation, download it now. A PDF or Markdown copy is yours to keep.

Yes. Any public chatgpt.com/share link works, whoever created it.
