How it works
- Open the chat in the ChatGPT app, tap the share icon at the top, and choose Copy link.
- Open Chrome, come to this page and long-press the box above to paste.
- Tap Download PDF. In the print screen, set the printer at the top to Save as PDF, tap the round PDF download button, and pick a folder.
Where to find it on Android
Your PDF is saved to Downloads (also in Chrome's Downloads list). Open it in Google Drive's PDF viewer, Files by Google or Adobe Acrobat. Upload the PDF to Google Drive and its text becomes searchable from any device.
What's in the PDF
Your messages are tinted, ChatGPT's replies run full width, code blocks wrap instead of being cut off, and links print with their address. Untick Include my messages to keep only the answers, or tick Timestamps to record when each message was sent.
If something goes wrong on Android
- Only your real printer is listed. Tap the printer name at the top of the print screen and choose Save as PDF from the list.
- The print window doesn't open. Some browsers, including a few manufacturer browsers, ignore print requests. Open this page in Chrome.
- A .docx opens as unreadable text. Your phone has no Word app set up. Install Google Docs or Microsoft Word, then tap the file again.
Good to know on Android
Chrome on Android doesn't support extensions, so PDF extensions for ChatGPT won't help on your phone. This page works in any Android browser.

Do I need to install anything on Android?
No. Everything happens in Chrome. There's no app or extension to install.
Does it work for long chats?
Yes. The whole conversation is loaded before saving, so long chats come out complete.
