How it works
- Copy the chat's share link from ChatGPT (Share, then Copy link).
- Paste it above and check the preview. Rename the title if you like.
- Click Download PDF and choose Save as PDF in the print window.
What the PDF looks like
Your messages sit in a light green box and ChatGPT's replies run full width, like a document rather than a screenshot. Headings, numbered lists, tables and code blocks keep their structure. Links print with their address next to them, so a printed copy still tells you where a source came from.
Turn off Include my messages to keep only ChatGPT's answers. That's the quickest way to turn a long research chat into a handout.
Why not just print from ChatGPT?
ChatGPT only renders the messages near the part of the page you're looking at. When you print a long chat from chatgpt.com, the browser captures empty space for everything else, so you get blank pages. Carryover lays out every message first, so the PDF is complete no matter how long the chat is.

Questions
Why does the print window open?
Your browser's own PDF engine produces sharper text than an image-based PDF, and the text stays searchable and selectable. Choose Save as PDF as the destination.
Can I make the PDF smaller?
In the print window, set Margins to Minimum and turn off Headers and footers. Background graphics can stay on, they add little.
Does it keep math and code?
Code blocks keep their monospace layout and wrap instead of being cut off. Math written in LaTeX shows as its source text.
